Starting from the Honmaru, the route moves through Obikuruwa and the Otsubone Residence, across the Great Dry Moat to Nakamaru and Katanaraike Pond, up through Kyogokumaru and its gate to Komaru, and on past the Great Stone Wall to Sannomaru at the summit.
